White Point Marina was started in the 1950ís by Norman Turner, a local businessman and boater, who needed a safe harbor for his cruiser and for a few boating friends. The Redfearn family purchased the marina in 1966. Robert Redfearn, Sr. gradually expanded the facility to the present size until his retirement in 1985. Robert Redfearn, Jr. began his White Point career in the family business during summers while a student in high school. After college, marriage, and a brief career in sales, Rob returned to the family business in 1976. He became president of the corporation upon his fatherís retirement. In 2014 Rob's eldest daughter Sarah and her husband Drew moved to Kinsale to continue the family tradition. The current facility covers three acres of waterfront on the northwest branch of the Yeocomico River, a tributary of the lower Potomac River. The colonial seaport of Kinsale is nearby. 2015 marks the 49th year of ownership for the Redfearn family. Providing quality service with honesty, integrity, and friendliness have been the hallmarks that have helped sustain that longevity. Customer satisfaction has always been their overriding goal.
